Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening Camps

Marking International Women's Day, the Foundation sponsored several Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening & Awareness Camps organized by the Tata Memorial Hospital's Department of Preventive Oncology.
These camps were held across the city of Mumbai, i.e. in the lower socio-economic & backward areas. The health camps were conducted by a team of dedicated and hardworking doctors under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Gauravi Mishra of the Tata Memorial Hospital.

Cancer Awareness & Education:   1430 Women
Breast Check Up:   463 Women
Cervix Check Up:   463 Women
Results: (Cases referred to Hospital for treatment)
Breast Cancer:    70 Women
Cervix Cancer:   71 Women
Due to the success of the Camps in the month of March - April 2006 and the abnormally high number of women found to have shown positive signs of probably having developed Breast or Cervical Cancer ,it was decided that the foundation along with the Preventive Oncology Department continue to conduct such health camps all through the year.
